    The Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics (DICP) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) was founded in March 1949. It is a multidisciplinary institute engaging in both fundamental and applied research in chemistry and chemical engineering, especially technological development.

Over the span of half a century, DICP has conducted research in many fields, all closely integrated with the needs of national economic reconstruction. The institute has made many important achievements and contributions to China as a whole.

DICP has also established extensive academic and technological cooperation and exchange relations with institutions in 32 countries. A total of 1,800 scientists from different countries have visited the institute, while 1,100 scientists and 300 graduate students from DICP have been sent abroad for academic exchanges.

The current director of the institute is Professor Xinhe Bao.
